Let’s go on an excursion in the heart of Lozère’s raw and preserved nature on electric mountain bikes, through an accessible itinerary to discover the breathtaking landscapes of the Margeride, the Charpal Lake or the Gorges du Tarn. This is a natural pause marked with moments of well-being in an authentic and comfortable accommodation, known for its savoury meals with regional products.

To make your trip a little longer, do not hesitate to stay a few extra days by selecting an extension. This way, you will be able to visit nearby regions, relax at the beach or try another activity to complete your experience in Lozère.

DAY 1 – ARRIVAL AND WELCOME IN MENDE (HAMLET OF ASPRES)

Meeting at 2 PM with your guide, presentation of the routes. Settling in our guest house, ‘Les Granges’. This accommodation, at over 1000 m (3000ft) on the hill only 8 km (5 miles) away from Mende, offers a wonderful view over the valley. In the afternoon, there will be a familiarisation with the electric mountain bikes and a discovery tour with the assessment of the group’s level. Dinner and night at Les Granges.

DAY 2 – DISCOVERY OF THE MARGERIDE AND THE CHARPAL LAKE

Starting at the guest house, we will go through one of the most beautiful landscapes of Lozère. The Margeride offers a hilly playground with passes over 1500 m (5000 ft) and remarquable viewpoints over the region. The routes vary, alternating between gravel roads and trails. We will go from the shade of great pine forests to clear landscapes, marked by granite chaos and heather lands. Return to the guest house at the end of the day.

DAY 3 – DISCOVERY OF THE GORGES DU TARN

After breakfast, short transfer to the heart of the Gorges du Tarn for a beautiful mountain biking day! The river Tarn has its sources at 1600 m (5200 ft) by the Mont Lozère. Over millennia, the river created a deep breach between the Méjean and Sauveterre plateaus: a true canyon has been sculpted in the limestone massif of the Grands Causses. Our itinerary will lead us along the river by taking a portion of the Stevenson trail.
